Taera Hive Imperium are an agressive insectile race bent on aquiring superiority over other races.

Taeran society is strict and efficient. Though there is no total control and each Taeran has his/her own personality, freedom varies. Early on birth each individual passes through a sophisticated test examining his/her mental capabilities. The greater they are the more freedom one is given.Taera society lacks any knack towards arts or crafts. Their homes are mainly undecorated and everything is aimed towards maximum efficiency.Taera government is split - for the most part of it all control comes from the Hive Emperor assigned by the queens from the most potent of the young, yet the Queens possess ultimate veto power over any decision and can overrule and order any order to any individual that is not too distant from them without any amplification equipment.

Simply put, Taerans are big bugs. Though resembling no particular insectoid from any known world, Taerans have characteristics of many.Generally Taerans have four pairs of leg-limbs, scattered along their long abdomen and a pair of hand-limbs in the top middle part of their thorax. Taerans also have a pair of now-atrophied (sp) wings that now are used for nothing more than expressing strong emotions and protecting the abdomen. Their head is relatively small - with no skull whatsoever - and have the features of a pair of long antennae, pair of big fasceted eyes, pair of main claws and ten pairs of smaller, "teeth claws". Taerans possess a strong exoskeleton and their body is covered with chitine-like natural "armor". All their bodies, save for the eyes, are in numerous shades of green. Theory claims that this color was used as natural camouflage on their green homeworld. Now it is a destinct part of the race.All taerans possess minor telepathy that is a remain of their hive past and allows quick communication between individuals, and their Hive Queens.

Taerans originate from the green carbon-dioxide vasts of the icy Taera Prime planet (Astronomical name - Dineta II). The planet, unfortunately, was extremly poor with geological resources. Following the steep climb from primitive hives to a space-faring society Taerans had to learn a way around industrial societies most other species took and master the arts of organic manipulations. After achieving space flight and mastering the warp-point jumps Taerans found their knowledge of organic to be superior to most other races. Even though now Taera possesses vast amounts of minerals and radioactive materials from many worlds they still utilize their skills in organic technology. Taera Hive Imperium is relatively newly formed society - for a long time it had been known as Taera Republic that served as peacekeepers in the universe. Series of fails and mistakes slowly led to a crumbling of the regime and Queens withdrew all Taerans back to the homeworld and its neighbouring two systems to regain strength. Old queens, who had grown quite old, had given up the ruling rights to their inheritors who now lead the new Taera Hive Imperium.
